Science: Key Nouns

In science, we use specific words to describe the world. A 'laboratory' (or 'lab') is a room for experiments. An 'experiment' is a test to discover something. A 'hypothesis' is an idea you can test. 'Data' is information you collect. 'Evidence' is proof. For example: 'We did an experiment in the lab to test our hypothesis. The data gave us evidence.'

📖 Définition

'Lab' is short for laboratory, a place with scientific equipment.

🔍 Exemple

'The students mixed chemicals in the lab.'

💡 À retenir : Remember: 'data' is technically plural (singular: datum), but in everyday English it's often used as a singular noun.
